NURSE Clinical Quality ManagerMUST HAVE- Minimum bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
- Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification in National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Certification in LEAN Six Sigma Methodology preferred.
- Experience across multiple clinical specialties such as oncology, ophthalmology, critical care, and pediatrics.
- Knowledge of performance improvement, databases/information systems preferred.
- Experience with population health management preferred.
- Proficiency in computer word-processing, spreadsheets, statistical software programs, and presentation applications.
- Microsoft Visio experience desired.
Job DescriptionThe Clinical Quality Manager co-leads large collaborative teams consisting of clinicians and key stakeholders across all clinical programs within the organization. The role involves coordinating the gathering and analysis of data to present for decision-making purposes, initiating quality improvement teams as a workgroup of Clinical Programs and/or divisions and/or departments. Additionally, the Clinical Quality Manager serves as a resource and coach for quality improvement workgroups, tracks workgroup outcomes, and assists with barriers encountered by these workgroups.
Responsibilities- Lead project teams in conjunction or coordination with a leadership dyad, usually comprising a physician and administrative leader.
- Provide clinical expertise across all clinical programs to support effective planning, execution, and evaluation of clinical improvement projects.
- Apply clinical expertise to data-driven quality improvement methodologies such as lean, six sigma, and care delivery science.
- Apply statistical theories and methods to solve practical problems.
- Strategically guide teams to use resources efficiently and maintain alignment with system goals and priorities.
- Develop and maintain detailed project work plans based on analysis of tasks, resource requirements, interdependencies, and timelines.
- Utilize expert knowledge on quality improvement tools such as project charters, flowcharts, pareto charts, and Ishikawa diagrams in a clinical setting.
- Ensure data tracking of clinical, patient experience, provider experience, and financial outcomes, identifying and managing risks proactively.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including project sponsors, business unit owners, clinical and technical personnel.
- Facilitate change management as required.
- Maintain project status within tools used for measuring, monitoring, and reporting project performance.
- Prepare and deliver briefings and project status reports.
- Analyze clinical documentation, identify quality trends, and develop strategies to improve quality.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement and evaluate performance and process improvements.
- Design and collect health data, perform analytics and measurement.
- Educate, train, and communicate about quality and safety.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve patient safety.
Essential Skills- Clinical development and research.
- Clinical operations and nursing.
- Three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting with at least one year of direct involvement in quality improvement activities.
- Experience leading teams and program development.
- Knowledge of data-driven quality improvement methodology such as lean, six sigma, and care delivery science.
