We are looking today for a Strategic Account Manager to provide innovative solutions and sell our offerings to brands and retailers across apparel categories.
The Strategic Account Manager will have responsibility for selling and account management and will develop specific strategic plans to gain new branded and private label apparel programs specifying LYCRA®, COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® fibers.
This role will report to the North America Director of Brands and Retailers.
Job Summary:
- Represent The LYCRA Company in all apparel categories including activewear, outdoor, intimate apparel, swim, Ready to Wear and denim.
- Value sell The LYCRA Company capabilities, products, innovations, and brands to generate fiber specification.
- Understand brand/retailer business strategies, objectives, and incentives to identify profitable commercial opportunities throughout the value chain.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at prospective and existing accounts.
- Create marketing and sales programs retailers will value, including digital, and instore promotions.
- Focus on developing business with garment packagers by collaborating closely with product development teams to ensure The LYCRA Company technologies are specified.
- Identify growth opportunities with new retailers, brands, and existing accounts.
- Collaborate closely with Technical and Strategic Product Directors to provide market feedback on trends, new product development ideas and marketing platforms.
- Use CRM Tool, Salesforce.com to support account planning and ensure metrics are in place to track growth expectations and sales revenue.
- Partner with Asia Commercial counterparts on driving the value chain from the retailer, packagers, mills etc.
- Manage Intellectual Property including trade and wordmarks.
- Perform all the above, while ensuring the highest level of ethics and integrity.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science in marketing, business, or related field.
- 5+ years' experience of successful sales in apparel categories.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a "hunter" mentality and a passion for sales.
- Proven ability of achieving demonstrated growth measured by sales performance against goals and managing a complex sales cycle.
- A textile and/or apparel background, with knowledge of B2B / consultative sales process.
- Experience of working with product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Team player with ability to work independently.
- Excellent organization and economic strategic thinking skills.
- Experience with financial, data analysis and profitability models.
- Ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously.

- Flexibility to travel within the USA and to Asia.
Preferred Criteria - Experience with Asia supply chains.
- Experience with a fiber, fabric, or apparel business.
- Strong understanding of the mass market/private label apparel business
- 7+ years' experience of successful sales in apparel categories
