About the Role:
As a Health Data Scientist, you will become a member of the ChromaDex External Research Program (CERP) team, managing strategies and execution of the collection and analysis of health data from various sources, including those that have used Niagen Bioscience and ChromaDex materials in their research and/or clinical practice. Your collection, analysis, and interpretation of this information will be regularly communicated to multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams within Niagen Bioscience and ChromaDex, Inc., and to external partners.
Core Expectations:
- Owner and manager of scientific and health data acquisition, transformation, and quality assurance projects
- Database model development and management
- Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning and artificial intelligence models to support scientific research and communication
- Statistical and/or bioinformatics support for various preclinical and clinical studies
- Development of applications or similar for the collection and analysis of health data from external partners Participate in meetings and discussions with global research collaborators, which may occasionally require availability outside of typical work hours
- Provide statistical and/or bioinformatics support for various preclinical and clinical studies
Required Qualifications and Success Factors:
- Statistical and/or bioinformatics support for various preclinical and clinical studies
- Proficiency in data query languages (such as SQL), scripting languages (Python), and statistical languages and software (GraphPad Prism, R, SAS, etc.)
- 2-3 years of experience as a data scientist and analyst
- Experience conducting predictive modeling and power analyses
- 2+ years utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to assess large datasets, including ‘omics data
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in bioinformatics, public health, biostatistics, or related field
- Proficiency in building data collection and analysis applications
- 2-3 years of experience using AWS-based tools/systems (RDS, Redshift, Glue, Sagemaker, etc.)
- Knowledge of GCP and HIPAA
- Prior completion of Human Subjects Training
