At Desjardins, you will play a key role in supporting our members/claimants, and employers by facilitating a smooth and timely return to work following an illness or injury. As a Rehabilitation Specialist, involves working directly with members to guide and assist them through their recovery process. You will be responsible for designing and implementing rehabilitation strategies that are proactive, cost-effective, and delivered in a timely manner. Collaboration with key stakeholders will be essential to ensure successful outcomes and promote sustainable return-to-work solutions. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Conduct comprehensive, objective assessments and document findings accurately
- Design and implement strategic, outcome-focused rehabilitation plans based on functional capabilities
- Negotiate return-to-work arrangements with members, employers, and healthcare providers
- Collaborate closely with claim specialists to ensure integrated case management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and members, ensuring high service quality and satisfaction
- Manage a rehabilitation caseload within the Life & Health Benefits portfolio
- Contribute to short-term projects and initiatives within the department as needed

What you bring to the table - Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy)
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Rehabilitation experience
- Advanced intermediate knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation principles and practices
- Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
