Position Summary: As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Auburn Memorial Medical Services, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality, comprehensive medical care to neonates in an outpatient setting. You will collaborate closely with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while supporting families through challenging healthcare journeys.
Responsibilities and Duties: - Deliver exceptional clinical care to neonates, including comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, laboratory tests) and manage the results, making informed decisions in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health histories to inform diagnosis and management plans for critically ill and complex patients.
- Facilitate smooth transitions of care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring effective communication with patients and families.
- Develop and execute nursing care plans that reflect specialized knowledge in neonatal health, addressing acute and chronic conditions.
- Demonstrate competence in recognizing and responding to emergencies and critical changes in a patient's clinical status, ensuring timely intervention.
- Assess and support families in adapting to their child's health needs, providing education and resources to enhance coping and communication.
- Work collaboratively with attending and consulting physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient-centered care strategies.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, leveraging evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with advancements in neonatal care, integrating new knowledge into practice to continually enhance the quality of care provided.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements: - Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York State.
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Neonatal Care or a related field.
- Proven experience in neonatal nursing or a related clinical setting; prior NP experience preferred.
Salary: $110,000 to $125,000 per year DOE
