Position Summary:
The Busser plays a key support role in delivering a world-class dining experience for members and their guests at Balboa Yacht Club. This individual ensures that dining areas are clean, organized, and properly set, while maintaining the pace and flow of service alongside servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. The Busser helps uphold the club’s standards of excellence, hospitality, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet members and guests in a courteous and professional manner
Promptly clear used dishes, glassware, silverware, and napkins from tables and reset for the next service
Maintain cleanliness of dining room, patio, and bar areas, including floors and service stations
Refill water glasses and assist with bread service and other light table duties as needed
Support servers by running food, delivering condiments, and responding to member requests promptly
Maintain side stations with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and supplies
Follow all club service standards and grooming policies
Assist with setting up for events, banquets, and private parties as needed
Communicate professionally and efficiently with the front- and back-of-house teams
Observe and report any member or guest concerns to the supervisor immediately
Qualifications:
Prior experience in hospitality or food service preferred, but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Professional appearance and demeanor
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
