The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing all inventory and stockroom activities that support production for a workforce of approximately 50 manufacturing employees in our Phoenix, AZ plant. This role ensures accurate inventory counts, efficient material flow, and supports production needs through timely inventory management and control. The Inventory Control Specialist partners closely with production supervisors and the materials team to maintain accuracy and availability of parts and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Manage all stockroom activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and organizing materials and parts.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production areas to avoid downtime.
- Track and investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized stockroom layout for efficient material handling.
- Support inventory audits and assist in month-end or year-end physical counts.
- Coordinate with purchasing and production planning to anticipate material needs.
- Use ERP or inventory management systems to record transactions and updates in real-time.
- Provide guidance and training to others working in the stockroom as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or stockroom environment; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Experience with ERP systems and basic computer proficiency (MS Excel a plus).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (forklift certification preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production teams and leadership.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, on-site role. Standard shift: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Overtime as required to meet production needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
