Youth Leader Job Duties

Actively supervise program participants ages 4-12, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times
Develop and implement program activities that may include sports, art projects, science, and other enrichment clubs that utilize your skills and interests
Provide homework assistance
Provide positive behavior guidance and youth mentoring that supports the developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of all students

What do I need to qualify?

Must be 18 or older
High School Diploma or GED
AA/AS degree, 48 college units, or be able to pass District’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam acceptable
Must be available for all 5 afternoon shifts Monday through Friday. Shifts available: (hours may vary by location but typically 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM M-F)
CPR and First Aid certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute) is required within 30 days of hire and will be paid through the Y.

Offer of employment shall be contingent upon employee becoming fully vaccinated, within 6 weeks of offer, and providing proof of vaccination. Individuals unable to comply with this vaccination requirement may seek an accommodation due to a medical exemption or sincerely held religious belief.
