Understands standard project management processes
Participates in the design, management, and strategic planning for long-term department operations.
Provides advisement to technical staff concerning priorities and initiatives within Public Safety.
Provides for consultation with senior management concerning current and projected information management and automation services needs within Public Safety.
Provides advisement to staff under charge concerning customer service requests, end user issues, technology applications, automation related policies and procedures, and internal staff issues.
Participates in the review and recommendation concerning all aspects of the County’s information services needs.
Develops and maintains effective external vendor relationships and vendor services contracts; provides advisement in construction of RFI/RFP’s and IS consultant contracts.
Performs personnel management functions.
Performs research involving independent judgment and initiative for the purpose of resolving or addressing operational matters applicable to Public Safety Support.
Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field of state-of-the-art information technologies and services for application to Public Safety functions.
Will perform project management duties as required
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related field
Seven years progressively knowledgeable and skilled experience in client services, three of which shall have been acquired in a supervisory capacity
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and lift and/or move up to 10 to 20 pounds.

Grade: 60

Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week
