Help a thriving public Montessori school run beautifully, alongside a team that works hard, laughs often, and believes in the power of each person, and all of us together, to build a better world.

Join Our Community

River Montessori Charter School is a public school in Petaluma where children, families, and staff truly matter. As our School Admin Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our daily operations: supporting the Executive Director & Superintendent, keeping the school day running smoothly, and making it possible for our teachers to focus on what they do best, guiding children.

This is a role with real scope. It reaches well beyond a traditional front office, bringing together schedules, student records, events, and communication with staff and families. Just as our classrooms are thoughtfully prepared for children, you’ll help prepare the environment that lets the whole school do its best work.

We take our work seriously and ourselves lightly. You’ll join a close, collaborative team whose members enjoy one another, celebrate the small wins, and have a good time doing work that matters. If you love balancing the urgent with the long-term, and you’re at your best alongside teachers, leaders, and families, you’ll thrive here.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the school office
• Plan and coordinate school events that bring our community together
• Provide office, technology, and administrative support for our educational program
• Enter and maintain accurate student data in school and state databases
• Prepare and file reports with the California Department of Education and other state agencies
• Manage the office appointment schedule and school calendar
• Keep the school website/socials current and create flyers and announcements
• Share clear, timely communications with staff, families, and the wider community

What You Bring

• Comfort with technology and a readiness to learn new tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Independence and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• A calm, gracious presence under pressure
• A knack for finding solutions
• Warmth and respect in your relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• A sense of humor and real enjoyment of working as part of a team
• Enthusiasm for our school’s vision, mission, and goals, and curiosity about Montessori education
• Discretion with confidential student and family information
• Commitment to school and safety policies

Skills we love: Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, Squarespace, Smore or similar tools, calendaring and scheduling, and strong writing and editing. Experience with SchoolWise or CALPADS and Spanish language skills are a plus!

Education and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or extensive administrative experience, is preferred
• First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it
• Clear TB risk assessment and criminal background check before your first day
