POS Implementation Technician (Perfect for Former Restaurant Managers!) Company: Pittsburgh POS Location: Greater Pittsburgh Area, PA (Field-Based / On-Site) Type: Full-Time

Tired of 70-hour weeks, understaffed shifts, and working every holiday?

If you are a restaurant manager or hospitality pro who wants out of the daily grind but still loves the industry, this is your off-ramp. We are looking for someone who has always been the "go-to tech person" in their restaurant—the one who fixes the receipt printer during the Friday night rush, builds out the POS menus, and knows exactly how a kitchen line actually operates.

At Pittsburgh POS, we are Western Pennsylvania’s premier point-of-sale technology partner. We bridge the gap between complex tech and local hospitality operations. You will use your deep understanding of the restaurant world to install, program, and support POS systems for bars, restaurants, and hotels across the region. You already know what our clients are going through; now you get to be the hero who makes their shifts run smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Menu & System Building: Use your operational knowledge to build backend menus, accurate pricing tiers, modifiers, and efficient floor plans that actually make sense for the servers and kitchen.
Hardware Installation: Set up touchscreen terminals, handhelds, kitchen display systems (KDS), and printers on-site. Run cables and make sure hardware is optimally placed.
Networking & Troubleshooting: Diagnose basic local networking issues (routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points) to keep systems communicating and tableside ordering online.
Staff Training: Train managers, bartenders, and servers on daily operations, checkouts, and basic troubleshooting, speaking to them in "restaurant language," not just IT jargon.
Ongoing Support: Provide on-site, remote, and phone support. (Note: Because the industry runs on nights and weekends, there is an on-call rotation for emergencies—but it beats running a floor all night!).

What We’re Looking For:

Hospitality Experience: 1+ years of restaurant management, bartending, or serving experience, specifically with heavy exposure to modern cloud-based POS platforms. SpotOn experience is a massive plus.
Tech-Savvy Instincts: You don't need a computer science degree, but you do need a solid understanding of how basic networking works (IP networks, routers, Wi-Fi)
The "Rush" Mentality: You thrive under pressure, maintain a calm demeanor when things go wrong, and know how to communicate technical fixes to stressed-out restaurant staff.
Physical & Logistical Readiness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, crawl under counters to route cables, and stand during deployments.
Reliable Transit: A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle for traveling between client locations around Western PA.

What We Offer:

A Life Outside the Restaurant: Get your nights and weekends back (outside of standard on-call rotations).
Incentive Bonuses
Competitive Salary: Matched to your operational and technical experience.
Full Benefits: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.
Paid Time Off: Generous PTO and holiday pay.
Travel Perks: Mileage reimbursement/travel allowance for all field visits.
Career Growth: Vendor-specific certifications and real opportunities to grow in the IT space.
