Project Manager, Preconstruction / Front-End Focus

Location: New York City

Salary: $175,000-$225,000 per year

A well-established New York City general contractor is looking to bring in a Project Manager with strong exposure to the front end of projects, particularly across preconstruction, design-phase coordination and early-stage planning.

This is not a typical site-focused PM role. Instead, the position is geared toward individuals who have been heavily involved during the SD/DD phases, working alongside clients and design teams to help shape project strategy, budgets and overall delivery approach.

The firm has a strong pipeline of commercial and healthcare projects, and is particularly interested in candidates who have worked on large-scale, phased or operationally sensitive environments (infrastructure or complex institutional experience is highly relevant).

The Role

Support projects from early concept through design development and into GMP
Work closely with clients, architects and consultants during preconstruction
Contribute to budget development, cost planning and overall project strategy
Provide input on constructability, phasing, logistics and sequencing
Help bridge the gap between preconstruction and project execution teams
Be involved in presentations, planning and front-end decision making

Experience Required

6–12+ years’ experience within a GC or CM environment
Background as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager
Experience on complex, phased or operational projects (aviation, infrastructure, healthcare, institutional)
Exposure to preconstruction and early-stage project planning
Comfortable working alongside design teams and clients during early phases
Strong understanding of project delivery, cost drivers and constructability

Base salary: $175,000-$225,000 (flexible depending on experience)
