Summary

This position will play a hands-on role in working with our Help Desk to support end-users, assisting System Administrators to maintain HAU’s enterprise systems, and strengthen our cybersecurity posture. This internship is designed for a rising student who is passionate about IT administration, network engineering, cybersecurity and eager to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world systems.

Essential Functions

Updating and organizing IT documentation and knowledge bases.
Performing basic system monitoring and reporting.
Manage Users and Computers creation in Active Directory and Microsoft O365.
Work with IT team to manage workstation setup, software installation, patching, updates, and other helpdesk ticket submitted by users.
Assist with updating and maintaining documentation for network infrastructure including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
Review and clean up Active Directory security groups to ensure appropriate and least-privilege access.
Help track cyber security compliance documentation and audit artifacts related to CMMC 2.0 and NIST SP 800-171 standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Current GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
Knowledge of computer systems, software, and basic networking concepts
Familiarity of network and system security
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in ticketing systems, documentation tools, and spreadsheets
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to travel 5-10% when required.
