Job Description:

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Project Leader in our Product Development group to join our team in Morrisville, PA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of delivering innovative specialty chemical solutions to customers worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Project Leader, in Product Development to oversee and drive chemistry-related projects within our Product Development team. This role leads cross-functional project activities, ensuring milestones, timelines, and objectives are met while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage project planning, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary chemistry technical resource supporting project-related production processes.

• Actively participate in hands-on laboratory work to support product development, including experimental design, execution, and data analysis.

• Coordinate work across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Guide experimental design, oversee lab work, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and provide clear recommendations.
• Prepare project updates, technical documentation, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with internal departments and external collaborators as needed.
• May travel for customer visits, trade shows, and commercial team collaboration.

Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Polymer Chemistry (Ph.D. preferred).
• Demonstrated project management experience in a research, product development or industrial environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant scientific tools.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work safely within a chemical processing environment and use appropriate PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The salary range for this position is $105k to $135k. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
